Brooke Degaris MS, RD
Take It Slow
Brooke joins the ACED family after completing her bachelor’s in Nutrition Dietetics from Auburn University and her masters in Dietetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is proud to also be a NASM personal training certified, and Inclusive Fitness certified for individuals with disabilities (CIFT). During her internship training she spent a portion of that time at ACED and chose to come back as an employee.
Brooke has a heart for eating disorders, passionate to share in the recovery journey of others after having personally walked through her own struggles. She desires to use her experience “for good” by helping others facing the same path. She genuinely sees working in this field not just as a job, but truly as her purpose.
Her hope is not only to help clients on their path to recovery, but to honestly work to equip them with the individualized tools necessary to live a long and healthy life free of the fears surrounding food and weight. She seeks to encourage them not just to eat, but to truly nourish their soul by providing not only knowledge but a kind, compassionate listening ear.
Brooke’s passions outside of work and family are enjoying cooking brunch and maybe working out with her husband, Jack, outside when weather permits with their goldendoodles, Oakley and Charlie. She won’t pass up an opportunity to watch a few episodes of Friends or a good movie. She can also be found baking, dreaming of owning her own bakery, Brookie’s Cookie and Cakes, someday. Oh, and in case folks wanted to know, her favorite animal is the sloth.
“I want to be the source of truth to combat what their eating disorder is telling them.”
