Elizabeth (Lisa) Wilson, MBA, ALC, joined ACED in December of 2020 and we are so excited to have her on our team. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Master's in Clinical Mental Health (MA) from Lenoir-Rhyne University and a BA in English from Florida State University.

Lisa brings over fifteen years of experience in administrative, fiscal and human resource management. She has a distinct background in financial data analysis and budget projections, grants and contracts administration, and business operations. Her expertise in small business development is a welcome opportunity as ACED grows.

As someone recovered from addiction and disordered eating, Lisa found herself compelled to enter the counseling profession in order to help others find the same freedom and hope she had been blessed with as they traveled their own journey of recovery. She has found joy in working with individuals suffering from both eating disorders and substance use/co-occurring disorders for over five years and continues to be humbled and inspired by her clients.

Lisa brings her love for the moment and her passion for nature into her practice using Mindful based Relapse prevention interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapies and Ecotherapy to better assist clients with living in each moment with increased self-awareness and self-care.

Lisa was a co-founder of Asheville 12 Step Recovery Club, an organization created to provide a safe and welcoming space for recovery support groups and to cultivate connections within the recovery community.  She has helped numerous non-profit organizations obtain funding to promote the education and overall well-being of marginalized populations.

Lisa brings compassion, authenticity, and a desire to help others create their divine sparks. She  brings lots of heart and initiative to ACED and we feel honored have her as a part of our growing, amazing team. She has a green thumb, stating, “my house is a jungle”. I love introducing clients to nature as a way to reconnect to themselves and find peace in the moment.

Lisa’s idea of a perfect Saturday is to wake up to a stellar cup of coffee (or three), dig in the dirt (garden), hike in the mountains (or a swim in the ocean), break bread (and other assorted goodies) with my family/friends (furry and human), play the piano (or dance), and then curl up in bed with a good book.

Never underestimate this magic moment, the power of now.
