Brent Robinson
No Apologies in the Kitchen
Deciding to bring on a full time Kitchen Manager was the best decision ever. And Brent is the best person for the job. Not only did he graduate with honors and earn a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences degree, with a concentration in Culinary Management and Hospitality, he also brings a sense of cohesiveness and appreciation for the “art of the meal” to our clients in a way we could never have expected.
He has 12 years of restaurant experience ranging from fast and casual to fine dining. Much of his experience involves honing his culinary skills and expanding his appreciation for the people who find their way to the table.
Brent’s gift to ACED is his passion for food, a cool head, flexible personality and a genuinely kind heart. He brought much needed organization to our kitchen, creating a more efficient process which he hopes will provide a safer, anxiety-free kitchen where clients can interact positively with the food around them. His goal is for each client to gain the confidence they need to find their way not only in the kitchen at ACED, but in their own kitchen at home or out in the world finding safety and joy in food in a way that nourishes their bodies and their souls.
He has several beliefs when it comes to food:
-Adding coffee to chocolate desserts makes the chocolate taste more prominent.
- Vanilla, like salt, helps everything taste more like itself, never say more to more vanilla.
- Always, always grease and flour a pan before putting the cake batter in the oven.
-Pasta water is liquid gold to thicken any soup or sauce.
- Never use wine for a recipe that you wouldn’t drink with the meal.
Brent’s idea of a perfect Saturday is a visit to the Farmer’s Market perusing the various options, playing fetch with his dog Hank, and often cooking and baking things to share with friends.
