Michele holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees; a doctorate in Basic Medical Science with a specialty in Physiology from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama; and post-doctoral research studies in Gastrointestinal Physiology at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas.

She taught undergraduate and master’s-level courses in biology, nursing and nurse-anesthesia programs both at Houston Community College in Houston, Texas and the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama.

Michele then chose to work at home raising two wonderful children.

She joined our team at the opening of ACED, which she co-owns with Founder and Executive Director Holly-Renée Miller. Michele not only greets every call ACED receives, she also handles the ACED business office logistics: patient insurance eligibility, insurance reimbursement, billing, personnel, human resources, payroll, and all other financial aspects.

Thankfully, beyond Michele’s extensive education and deep compassion for those with eating disorders, she has a “never-ending curiosity” and masterful skill for organization and attention to detail. Her organizational proficiency excavated and preserved 200 years of history for both her and her husband’s families, making Michele the family-appointed historian.

Michele was a member of the Junior Canadian Ski Patrol when living in her native Canada. Now in a warmer climate, she enjoys silent early mornings before the family awakes.

I am constantly in awe and so proud of the expertise and dedication of our clinical team and the difference they make in guiding our clients on their journey to recovery. To be able to witness our clients grow and glow in their new confidence and strength is a privilege I am very grateful for.
